About Us

Reflecting Jesus and his love

Our mission: Reflecting Jesus and His love.

Our purpose: To praise the name of Jesus with all we do (Colossians 3:17), to reach out to the lost by sharing the good news of Jesus (Matthew 28:18-20), and to build up and equip the saved to carry out His ministry to the world (Ephesians 4:11-16).

Our goal: To truly be a church “of Christ.” Remembering that we wear the name of Christ, we seek to reproduce His life in all we do and say (Acts 4:13). We do not consider the church of Christ a brand among many, but a reminder that the church belongs to Jesus, its Savior and Head (Ephesians 1:22-23).

Our aim: To simply be like the church we read about in the New Testament. In a world of religious division, we seek unity with each other and with God (John 17:20-23). It is our aim to always live with a spirit of humility that befits a people saved by grace (Luke 18:9-14). Our only guide is the Bible, and our only intention is to speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).

Minister

Elisha Freeman comes to Raleigh, North Carolina from Brundidge, Alabama. He is married to Anne Marie and has two children, Gage and Grace. Elisha graduated from Faulkner University in 2007 with a B.A. in Biblical Studies and is currently working on his M.A. in Biblical Studies from Faulkner. Elisha enjoys being outside with his family, watching Auburn football, and Kentucky basketball.

Elisha came to faith in Jesus and was baptized in February 1999. His approach to ministry is multi-faceted. He is very personal, as that is how ministry is successful. He intends for the sermon and Bible class to be founded on the Bible, and be relevant at the same time. His favorite Bible verse is Romans 5:8 – “God shows His love for us in that while were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

Youth Minister

Charlie Vasquez has been our youth minister since April 2022. He has previously worked with congregations in St. Louis, Missouri, and Houston, Texas. He is married to Raianne and they have a daughter, Addi. He graduated in 2015 with a Bachelors in Bible and Religion from Harding University. He is fun-loving, weird, and passionate about God and His people. Some personal interests include the Dallas Cowboys, tennis, movies, and hiking.

Charlie believes that youth ministry is one of the most important mission fields. He has a passion to teach, equip, and love teenagers. At the same time, he is passionate about partnering with parents, who he believes are instrumental and primarily responsible for helping their teenagers grow in faith. He also believes that ministry to teenagers goes beyond education. Teenagers need someone who will live a Christian life that they can model and who will love and invest time getting to know them. It is his goal to be one of those people for every teenager that he has in the youth group. Charlie says, “I am thankful that God has allowed me to serve the teenagers and parents at the Raleigh Church of Christ as their youth minister.”
