More Than Conquerors Against Sin

Jul 03, 2022 — Elisha Freeman    The book of Romans is considered the cathedral of the Christian faith. If this is the case, then Romans 8 is the sanctuary of the cathedral. It is the Bible chapter of the NT that provides instant comfort, strength, and encouragement. This morning we begin a two month walk through this powerful chapter for timely lessons.

Faith: What is it?

Jun 26, 2022  Adam Hudson —

Why is it so difficult for many Christians to develop a strong faith in God? The one thing that is so essential for every Christian is having a strong faith in God and Jesus Christ. My goal today is to try and provide us with an understanding of the things that hampers the growth of our faith in Jehovah God and His Son Jesus Christ. And provide the things that increase our faith.

Divergent: Loving like God

Jun 19, 2022  Elisha Freeman — As we arrive to the final lesson in our series entitled ‘Divergent: A Study through the Sermon on the Mount’, we come to the most challenging and convicting of Jesus’ teachings: loving our enemies. If we are to make a difference that God intends for us to make, then it will begin and end with love. Love for each other, love for others, especially love for enemies. This morning Jesus will remind us of the power placed in our hands to make a difference if we so choose.

Divergent: Learning to Be Different from the Sermon on the Mount

Jun 12, 2022  Elisha Freeman — What are the most quoted Bible verses from people? Did you know that ‘Judge not’ is in the top five of most lists and polls conducted. This statement made by Jesus has been used to extremeness. Some use it to eliminate all judgment and free themselves from correction offered in love and truth others have used to discredit the Bible in some places citing ‘contradiction’. What does Jesus actually mean with this statement and how can we learn to be different when it comes to exercising judgment?

A Recipe for Good Success

Jun 05, 2022 –Elisha Freeman  Today, we will recognize and honor our four high school seniors who have worked hard to achieve a milestone in their lives. Many of us will give them ‘best wishes’ and offer prayers for ‘success’ in their future endeavors. What makes for success in this life? Is it a diploma? Is it a college education? Is it a career? This morning we turn to a familiar text in the Old Testament and hear what God has to say to Joshua at a pivotal moment in his life and how he will have success moving forward.

Responding to Worry

May 29, 2022 — Elisha Freeman  Someone once said ‘That we live our lives crucified between two thieves—the regrets of yesterday and the worries of tomorrow.’ How true that statement is for many of us. Worry is a powerful emotion and vice we contend with every day. How do we respond to worry when it rises? This morning Jesus will provide three gentle reminds of ways we can handle worry.

Lessons from Youth Ministry

May 22, 2022 — Charlie Vasquez  What are the pillars of youth ministry? What can we learn from teenagers about being better Christians? How can we be the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven? This morning, we look at how teenagers and youth ministry look a lot like the early church of Acts 2. We look at how the ministry of why, pie, and fly can impact us as much as teenagers and the early church.

Divergent: Learning the Way of the Kingdom

May 01, 2022 — Elisha Freeman  Jesus’ kingdom on this earth has been fully established with His resurrection, the arrival of the Holy Spirit in Acts 1-2, and the preaching of the Gospel that led to 3000 being baptized. What happens now? The next several weeks we will undertake a journey through the Sermon on the Mount to answer this question.
