In the Meantime: Making the Most of Opportunities

Dec 03, 2023 Elisha Freeman — The Bible teaches that life right now is in between two major events, the birth of Jesus (that has already happened) and the return of Jesus. So while we wait for His return, what are we to be doing? This morning we will look at 3 parables Jesus tells in succession to help us realize the importance of seeing and acting on opportunities while we wait in the meantime.

Faith in Action -3

Apr 25, 2021 — Elisha Freeman — Wouldn’t it be great if that all that was needed for something to become real and make a difference was just to believe? It would be great, but that is not life. Faith or belief alone does not make anything happen. James reminds us that what makes a difference is someone who sees the opportunity to do something and makes the most of the time available to do good for God and for others.

Faith in Action – 2

Apr 18, 2021 — Elisha Freeman — We continue our series entitled ‘Faith in Action’ with the core point being that authentic Christian faith is a faith in action. As our faith mature and takes on action it is important to realize that there is a receiving end of our actions and that end is another person. Our faith in action is best realized in our approach to and treatment of other people. This morning we will be reminded that all of this is founded on love.

Better For It – Time

Aug 23, 2020 – Elisha Freeman — We have been in quarantine for 26 Sundays. What have you learned? How has it been a benefit to you? There is a saying that when we experience an event that changes our life, in one way or another, we will “be all the better for it.” Our new sermon series will focus on using what has happened and happening to make sure our spiritual life is better for it. We will examine this morning what the Bible says about time.

Messy: Love Like Jesus

Nov 17, 2019 — Elisha Freeman — As we bring our series to a close, we turn our attention to the event of Jesus’ in the upper room. This event takes place in the last night of Jesus’ life before His death. It is here that Jesus teaches us to love one another as He has loved us. This morning Jesus will remind us that in order to love like Him we must be willing to lay aside those things that stand in the way of love and take up the attitude and action of His type of love.
