Who is Jesus? I am the Light of the World

Feb 11, 2024   Elisha Freeman — In our current sermon series, we are seeking to find the answer to the question ‘Who is Jesus?’ And we are turning to the seven ‘I am’ statements to allow Jesus to speak for himself. This morning we arrive at the second statement that Jesus makes that speaks to our current spiritual condition and how He, being the light of the world, has come to set us free from sin and darkness.

He is Alive Easter 2022

Apr 17, 2022  Elisha Freeman — It has been at least two weeks since Jesus has been resurrected and Peter has not had an opportunity to speak with him. Does this mean Jesus is done with Peter? Can Peter return from his denial of Jesus when he was arrested? Does this mean the things that Jesus promised Peter in Matthew 16:15-18 are now going to someone else? Is there any hope for Peter? This morning we will read through the third resurrection appearance to answer our questions.

Immanuel, God with Us

Dec 19, 2021 – Elisha Freeman   While the Christmas season is full of joy, there are many of us who find it to be a time of great struggle. The birth of Jesus is not full of angels singing, wise men searching and worshipping, or a husband and wife being full of faith. There is weeping, lament, hurt, darkness, and other unfortunate realities. What do we learn from this? What is God’s response and answer? These and more we will seek to study and allow the Bible to answer.

Jesus: The Light of the World

Dec 08, 2019 — Elisha Freeman — What are some of your favorite Christmas song? Did you know that in Luke 1-2, there were five songs sung prior, during, and after Jesus’ birth? This morning we are going to look at the least known song of those five and be reminded that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s mercy and Jesus is indeed God’s light that has risen like the sun.

Pursuing the King in the Darkness (Christmas 2018)

Dec 02, 2018 –Elisha Freeman.

As the calendar turns and the Christmas season is ushered in and everything with it, we start a brand new series entitled ‘Pursuing the King.’ The holiday season is a paradox: joy and sorrow, peace and stress, and light and dark. These all exist and we can lose sight of Jesus and be taken off the path that leads to Him. What do we do when we encounter darkness and the light seems to go out? This morning we will seek to answer this question as we learn to Pursue the King in the Dark.
