Living the Word (RCC Theme for 2023)

Jan 08, 2023 — Elisha Freeman  This morning we embark on a journey to many things. Individually, we have made resolutions with the hopes our spiritual life will be richer and full of meaning. As a congregation, we want to build off the great work that God did among us last year. How will both be accomplished? What is needed to ensure that this year can be the most productive year possible? These questions and more will be our focus during the sermon this morning.

More Than Conquerors over Suffering

Jul 17, 2022 — Elisha Freeman  Tim Keller is quoted as saying ‘[Suffering] enables us to learn a very valuable lesson and that is: You don’t realize that Jesus is all you need until you know that Jesus is all you have.’ Suffering is one of the most complex and uncomfortable realities in this life. It affects everyone no matter how hard we plan and work to prevent it. When it arrives at our door step, how is the Christian to respond? We seek to answer this question and more this morning.

A Recipe for Good Success

Jun 05, 2022 –Elisha Freeman  Today, we will recognize and honor our four high school seniors who have worked hard to achieve a milestone in their lives. Many of us will give them ‘best wishes’ and offer prayers for ‘success’ in their future endeavors. What makes for success in this life? Is it a diploma? Is it a college education? Is it a career? This morning we turn to a familiar text in the Old Testament and hear what God has to say to Joshua at a pivotal moment in his life and how he will have success moving forward.
