Deacons

Oct 08, 2023  Elisha Freeman — It is a momentous day when the local church establishes leadership or adds to its existing leadership. Today, our elders start the process of adding deacons to our existing leadership. This means that the Raleigh Church of Chris tis growing and that men are maturing to step into these roles. This morning we will review key New Testament passages concerning deacons that will help us in this selection process.

Living the Word: On to Maturity

May 07, 2023  Elisha Freeman — Maya Angelou once said, ‘Most people don’t grow up, most people age. They find parking spaces, honor their credit cards, get married, have children, and call that maturity. What that is, is aging.’ God’s plan for the disciple of Jesus is grow and too mature. The same plan exists for a local church. Yet, why do many of us age in the faith but not mature? Our passage this morning provides us a warning in staying immature as well as offers ways for us to fulfill God’s expectation of growth.

Living the Word: On to Christian Maturity

Apr 30, 2023   Elisha Freeman — In every part of our life, growth is expected. If we are not growing, there are concerns as to what is wrong. The same is true for us spiritually. We are to grow and mature in our faith. Why does God expect maturity? How do we mature? These questions and more will be answered as we start a two week sermon series on maturity.

Faith in Action – 1

Apr 11, 2021 — Elisha Freeman — the Bible emphasizes the importance of faith in the life of a Christian in Hebrews 11:6. However, faith is not designed to be stagnant. Faith is to grow and it is to act. In the first lesson of our new sermon series, we turn our attention to the book of James and are challenged to by him to move our faith from a place of stationary to a place of action.

Better For It – Time

Aug 23, 2020 – Elisha Freeman — We have been in quarantine for 26 Sundays. What have you learned? How has it been a benefit to you? There is a saying that when we experience an event that changes our life, in one way or another, we will “be all the better for it.” Our new sermon series will focus on using what has happened and happening to make sure our spiritual life is better for it. We will examine this morning what the Bible says about time.

The Selection of Church Servants

Nov 11, 2018 – Elisha Freeman.

The Church of God is a spiritual family built on the foundation of the Jesus and the Apostles. Her work is to promote the Gospel to everyone in the community and the world. At the same time, there is a physical aspect to the work of the Church. Who is responsible for carrying out the physical tasks of the local Church? This morning we will study Acts 6:1-7 to find the Bible answer to our Bible question.
