Who is Jesus? I am the Light of the World

Feb 11, 2024   Elisha Freeman — In our current sermon series, we are seeking to find the answer to the question ‘Who is Jesus?’ And we are turning to the seven ‘I am’ statements to allow Jesus to speak for himself. This morning we arrive at the second statement that Jesus makes that speaks to our current spiritual condition and how He, being the light of the world, has come to set us free from sin and darkness.

Living the Word: Confidence, Sin, & Forgiveness

Sept 17, 2023 Elisha Freeman — Many of us are Christians. In and through faith, we repented of our sin and were baptized to have that sin washed away. Through those responses, God calls us His children. What happens when God’s children sin? What do we think? What do we believe? What do we do? The Apostle John will remind us and encourage us that even when we sin, our Heavenly Father created and maintains the opportunity to be forgiven.

Living the Word: Old to New

Apr 16, 2o23 — Elisha Freeman  The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are the cornerstone elements of the Gospel. Jesus dies for our sin to offer the opportunity of forgiveness and is resurrected to provide hope and victory. However, the Gospel is more than a feel good story. The Gospel is God’s good news of life. Life in the present and in the future. The New Testament describes life in the present as ‘new life’. What is this new life? This morning we will turn to Ephesians 4:17-24 for our answers and our challenge to live this new life to the glory of God.

He is Alive Easter 2022

Apr 17, 2022  Elisha Freeman — It has been at least two weeks since Jesus has been resurrected and Peter has not had an opportunity to speak with him. Does this mean Jesus is done with Peter? Can Peter return from his denial of Jesus when he was arrested? Does this mean the things that Jesus promised Peter in Matthew 16:15-18 are now going to someone else? Is there any hope for Peter? This morning we will read through the third resurrection appearance to answer our questions.

Revelations 3

Dec 6, 2020 – Elisha Freeman — Jesus promised in Matthew 16:18 that once He established the church that the gates of Hades would not prevail against it. However, Satan and evil will attack her. What do we learn from the 7 churches in Revelation 2-3 that can help us in our spiritual battle? We will seek to answer these questions and more in this lesson.

Jesus: The Light of the World

Dec 08, 2019 — Elisha Freeman — What are some of your favorite Christmas song? Did you know that in Luke 1-2, there were five songs sung prior, during, and after Jesus’ birth? This morning we are going to look at the least known song of those five and be reminded that Jesus is the fulfillment of God’s mercy and Jesus is indeed God’s light that has risen like the sun.

Salt & Light Living-Influence

December 23, 2018 – Elisha Freeman.

Lloyd John Ogilvie once said, ‘The thing we fear most is having lived our lives pleasantly, but to have made no measurable difference whatever.” Jesus tells us that we are the salt of the earth and the light of the world and if these two truth could be summed up in one word it would this: Influence. This morning we are going to learn the power of influence and that if 2019 is going to be different it is because we use our influence for good.

Pursuing the King in the Darkness (Christmas 2018)

Dec 02, 2018 –Elisha Freeman.

As the calendar turns and the Christmas season is ushered in and everything with it, we start a brand new series entitled ‘Pursuing the King.’ The holiday season is a paradox: joy and sorrow, peace and stress, and light and dark. These all exist and we can lose sight of Jesus and be taken off the path that leads to Him. What do we do when we encounter darkness and the light seems to go out? This morning we will seek to answer this question as we learn to Pursue the King in the Dark.
