O My Soul: A Soul Under Stress

Mar 19, 2023  Elisha Freeman — Judith Viorst is the author of the children’s book ‘Alexandar and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day.’ In this book, everything goes wrong for Alexandar and his solution is to move to Australia. So many of us have souls that have been in a terrible, horrible, no good condition. Sometimes these happen to us through events out of our control. What does Jesus teach us that enables us to handle and respond in positive ways? We will seek these answers this morning in our lesson.

A Soul at Rest

Mar 12, 2023  Elisha Freeman — When asked ‘How are you?’ Many of us has said and received, “I am doing good, just busy.” Many believe and wear busyness as a badge of honor, equating busyness with productivity. What if being busy isn’t productive? What is being busy is to be unhealthy? What if being busy is to put our soul in a toxic condition? This morning we will learn from our good Shepherd, Jesus, on how to respond to being busy and allow for more healthy rhythms to be cultivated for our lives.

O My Soul: Getting Healthy

Mar 05, 2023  Elisha Freeman — The term ‘soul’ is found 271 times in our English Bibles. The soul is the most valuable and precious gift given by God to a human being in this life. Yet, how many of us this morning would say our soul is good? Healthy? In good condition? Truth is that many would admit that it is not well with my soul. This morning we launch our March sermon series with a focus on our souls and getting healthy.

As a congregation, we want to build off the great work that God did among us last year. How will both be accomplished? What is needed to ensure that this year can be the most productive year possible? These questions and more will be our focus during the sermon this morning.
