Living the Word: On to Maturity

May 07, 2023  Elisha Freeman — Maya Angelou once said, ‘Most people don’t grow up, most people age. They find parking spaces, honor their credit cards, get married, have children, and call that maturity. What that is, is aging.’ God’s plan for the disciple of Jesus is grow and too mature. The same plan exists for a local church. Yet, why do many of us age in the faith but not mature? Our passage this morning provides us a warning in staying immature as well as offers ways for us to fulfill God’s expectation of growth.

Living the Word: Old to New

Apr 16, 2o23 — Elisha Freeman  The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are the cornerstone elements of the Gospel. Jesus dies for our sin to offer the opportunity of forgiveness and is resurrected to provide hope and victory. However, the Gospel is more than a feel good story. The Gospel is God’s good news of life. Life in the present and in the future. The New Testament describes life in the present as ‘new life’. What is this new life? This morning we will turn to Ephesians 4:17-24 for our answers and our challenge to live this new life to the glory of God.
