Who is Jesus? The Human One Bound to Time

May 05, 2024  Elisha Freeman — It is hard to imagine that an amazing reality of the miracle of the incarnation of Jesus is that to become human required Him to be bound to time. As God, Jesus is beyond time. He created time and controls time, but in humbling himself to become human Jesus binds himself to time. While on earth, how did Jesus view time? Approach time? Use time? These questions and more we will explore this morning.

Our God has Remembered Us: Christmas 2023

Dec 17, 2023  Elisha Freeman — The birth of Jesus is paramount to the Biblical narrative. If there is no virgin birth, then there is no life, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. In our text this morning, the Apostle Paul via inspiration of the Holy Spirit, will remind us that the birth of Jesus happened at the right time and was for the right reason.

In the Meantime: Making the Most of Opportunities

Dec 03, 2023 Elisha Freeman — The Bible teaches that life right now is in between two major events, the birth of Jesus (that has already happened) and the return of Jesus. So while we wait for His return, what are we to be doing? This morning we will look at 3 parables Jesus tells in succession to help us realize the importance of seeing and acting on opportunities while we wait in the meantime.

Living the Word: Old to New

Apr 16, 2o23 — Elisha Freeman  The crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus are the cornerstone elements of the Gospel. Jesus dies for our sin to offer the opportunity of forgiveness and is resurrected to provide hope and victory. However, the Gospel is more than a feel good story. The Gospel is God’s good news of life. Life in the present and in the future. The New Testament describes life in the present as ‘new life’. What is this new life? This morning we will turn to Ephesians 4:17-24 for our answers and our challenge to live this new life to the glory of God.

A Soul at Rest

Mar 12, 2023  Elisha Freeman — When asked ‘How are you?’ Many of us has said and received, “I am doing good, just busy.” Many believe and wear busyness as a badge of honor, equating busyness with productivity. What if being busy isn’t productive? What is being busy is to be unhealthy? What if being busy is to put our soul in a toxic condition? This morning we will learn from our good Shepherd, Jesus, on how to respond to being busy and allow for more healthy rhythms to be cultivated for our lives.

Better For It – Time

Aug 23, 2020 – Elisha Freeman — We have been in quarantine for 26 Sundays. What have you learned? How has it been a benefit to you? There is a saying that when we experience an event that changes our life, in one way or another, we will “be all the better for it.” Our new sermon series will focus on using what has happened and happening to make sure our spiritual life is better for it. We will examine this morning what the Bible says about time.

Be Strong in Prayer

May 26, 2019 — Elisha Freeman

Most of us here this morning are billionaires. From a time perspective, if we have lived 35 years then we would have 1,103,760,000 seconds. If we have lived to age 45, then we would have 1,419,120,000 seconds. How does a Christian spend this much time? One way is in prayer. This morning we are going to be reminded of the necessity of prayer to our spiritual life.
