Living the Word-Abraham: Passing the Test

Aug 13, 2023  Elisha Freeman — One aspect of the Biblical faith that is hard to accept, much less live through, is being tested. Sometimes, God allows the testing and sometimes God does the testing. When it comes our way, how do we pass the test? This morning we will take a look at Genesis 22 and Hebrews 11 at the record of Abraham’s greatest test and learn how to pass the test that comes into our faith journey.

The Shepherd King

Jul 30, 2023 — Scott Woolens  — In today’s lesson, we’ll explore the life of David, son of Jesse, a major character in the story of God’s chosen people, Israel. He was a good king but not a perfect one.  His life is full of heroic conquests and tragic misdirections and yet he points the way to a faith that will not let go of the God of Israel because the God of Israel will not let go of him.

Mothers Day 2023

May 14, 2023  Elisha Freeman — Today we honor our mothers, grand mothers, aunts, and other influential women in our life. This morning we turn our attention to the Old Testament’s most pious woman, Hannah. Hannah’s piety and faith shine through immense external and internal adversity. How is she able to maintain this faith and continue to follow the Lord? What can we learn from her that can be applied to our spiritual lives? We will seek to answer these questions today.

A Soul at Rest

Mar 12, 2023  Elisha Freeman — When asked ‘How are you?’ Many of us has said and received, “I am doing good, just busy.” Many believe and wear busyness as a badge of honor, equating busyness with productivity. What if being busy isn’t productive? What is being busy is to be unhealthy? What if being busy is to put our soul in a toxic condition? This morning we will learn from our good Shepherd, Jesus, on how to respond to being busy and allow for more healthy rhythms to be cultivated for our lives.

Our Scripture text will remind us that the key lies with an attitude and mindset that God highly favors in those who would follow Him.

We Agree on One Word

Unity was of such great importance that in John 17, Jesus prays for it. What exactly are we to have unity on? On what things must we agree? This morning we start the journey by focusing on God’s word that is known as the Bible.
